The maturity of an artist comes together with the qualities of his/her character, my humble opinion. Aïsha Devi with her last EP has come to “slap” our consciousness with another masterpiece which is completly at one with its creator’s mind, spirit and powerful character. What can we say about this contemporary multifaceted persona , this musical activist of our age?
Another aspect of her brilliant potential on Houndstooth, the very discussed – Consious Cunt EP. A feministic hymn for suppressed women, minds and bodies. For all these people at the margin of the society. Her own words are totally shaking our world. Vocals, dramatic synths and raw epic sounds are composing the soundtrack of a global parade as we feel it with The Saviour On Spoiled Blood.
| We gradually bring to our minds all the massacres, the pain and the suffering although with a hope rising up like an acoustic version of the flame on Picasso’s Guernica. That’s Aïsha and her artistic, humanistic, valuable music world. Her values and attitude will keep her always make a lasting impression in our minds and souls. Aurat is like a robotic prayer for those who feel what is deeply expressed here. Thank you Aïsha for this contribution to the contemporary music world.

“Of Matter and Spirit” LP and…there is very little that can be said. This is the highlight of her narration accompanied also with a great collaboration for her Mazdâ and its epic video made by the eccentric Chinese artist Tianzhuo Chen. She is not afraid to take a risk, experimenting with abstract sounds, effects and new ideas making up an anti-conformist landscape of audiovisual senses. A new era of electronic sensations and powerful images. She refers: “My process of creation takes its source in meditation, mantras, shamanism, healing frequencies… the idea is to trigger a social and spiritual awareness through music.” – Aïsha Devi.
