After their Avian SHULULULU EP, the enigmatic Swedish duo SHXCXCHCXSH present an edgy eight-track LP. This is the start of a new era for SHXCXCHCXSH and a reflection of their perception on their music: “…the main focus being our relationship with the dancers’ minds and how we do our best to fuck with them”. And they clearly manage it with this album-statement. A project full of unconventional, twisted beats and broken rhythms, where the sound delivered is more of a concept; gradually building up an almost religious mind-set for spiritual-like explorations. Punchy dark electronica, carried through distortion and rampant drums, creating an untamed erotic hallucination. Unpredictable, whirling pads enriched by ponderous bass, forming a dramatic scream.
OUFOUFOF can mean nothing, as well as everything. It can be all our primal emotions fed with anger, promise and unfulfilled passions. It can be a broken window and a post-rave riot. It can be a land of no hopes. The borderline between isolation and abundance.
