T.O.P Reviews: Sabiwa – 輪 迴 (CHINABOT)

輪 迴 means reincarnation and it is a brilliant release of a mental journey, gradually building up towards an ecstatic tribal dance. Deviant broken rhythms, manic whispers and a primal animistic atmosphere, picturing a ritual of possessed spirits, filled with untamed fears. Sabiwa’s quirky vocals and unique sonic textures flirt with exceptional experimental patterns. A twelve-track album released on Chinabot, through which Sabiwa, a Taiwanese artist interprets reincarnation by using intense vocals and heavy bass alongside explosive screaming percussions and wind instruments. 輪 迴 could be a contemporary delirium, amongst undiscovered internal landscapes. A daring step towards the unknown, rediscovering our roots, with our only natural weapon; our body.
